Homekill Specialists – Serving South Otago for Over 30 Years

At Milton Butchery, we have been perfecting the art of homekill for more than three decades. We proudly service the greater South Otago area, as well as Taieri and Dunedin, delivering a clean, humane, and professional service every time.

We offer on-farm cattle slaughter for $140, with processing and packing at $1.40 per kilogram of hanging weight (plus GST). Your beef is always hung and aged for at least a week to bring out the best flavour and tenderness, then packed in strong polyethylene bags for a longer freezer life. Want to go the extra step? We can vacuum-pack your steaks for maximum freshness.

You can also bring in your own slaughtered beef, pigs, sheep, or deer — just ensure they’re clean and tidy. We work closely with Rex Spence at South Kill Abattoir (just north of Milton) for pigs and sheep, and we’ll pick them up directly for processing. Pricing for pigs and sheep will vary depending on size and processing requirements.
